Follow the steps below to enable developer options and allow the installation of apps from unknown sources on your Google TV device.
Step 1: Download the Downloader App
- Go to the Google Play Store on your Google TV device.
- Search for Downloader and install the app.
Step 2: Enable Developer Options
Access Settings:
- From the home screen, navigate to your profile icon in the top-right corner and select it.
- Choose Settings from the dropdown menu.
Navigate to System Settings:
- In the Settings menu, scroll down and select System.
- Then, choose About.
Enable Developer Options:
- Scroll to the bottom and locate Android TV OS build.
- Press the select button on this option multiple times (approximately 7 times) until a message appears stating, "You are now a developer!"
Step 3: Allow Apps from Unknown Sources
- Return to the System menu and select Developer options.
- Find Install unknown apps and select it.
- Choose the app you plan to use for downloading APKs (e.g., Downloader) and toggle the setting to Allowed.
